The most challenging aspect of my internship is probably getting used to the freedom of exploring and finding information that is useful, interesting, and related to the project. It is hard sometimes knowing what is not needed and needed because of the wide variety of information out there.

My supervisor's management style I would say is informal, but the organization itself is formal. There are people in each department of the company that is responsible for outgoing their tasks to help preserve the legacy of Thoreau. On the first day, I was able to meet many of the people from the different departments and was introduced to what they did to help the company. It was really interesting to me how each person's role in the company was important to keep it functioning and thriving. They were also all really interested in the work they did and really believed in keeping Thoreau's legacy alive.

One new thing I have learned about this company is that there is still so much to learn about Thoreau and what he did when he was still alive. I also learned new things about Thoreau that I never knew, like most people relate to him as a philosopher or naturalist, but in fact he was just a writer.
