During the third week of my internship I continued to work physically at the popup in the Chesnut Hill mall, and was introduced to some new projects as well. These included learning how to photoshop photos of the jewelry for the company's website, and also learning to handcraft/bead some necklaces and bracelets on my own. During one of my shifts in the mall when it wasn't too busy, my supervisor asked me if I wanted to "Shop the competition." In the fashion industry, it is very important to keep up with trends and what other companies are selling to get a feel for how you can improve and distinguish your own. I walked around the mall into other stores that sold jewelry and took notes and photographs of the displays to help me remember each collection and their line. This week enlightened and changed my perspective on the fashion industry because it helped give me a feel for running and fostering a company as well as staying aware of your competitors and everchanging trends.
