This week, my supervisor was not here so Jeff and Sam, the other supervisors gave me the task of finding quotes in Thoreau's journal along with other tasks. There were a variety of words and I had to find quotes that had the words in them and were significant enough to publish on their website. I also helped with sending out postcards to people and helping with making cards with different vegetables and fruits on them. I have learned more about how different people contribute to the company.
Something kind of awkward and challenging that happened at my internship was that the website in which I had to publish quotes on kept loosing connection and was under maintenance, so it was frustrating to write a quote out and it not being saved. I handled it by asking if there were other tasks I could do in the mean time and they did, so everything worked out fine. Other than that, there has not been anything else that happened out of the ordinary.
Since I do not know what career path I want to take yet, the internship has helped me able to learn things fast and be able to negotiate with peers and also supervisors better. I have learned a lot about how a company works and how there are different people specified to different parts of the company.
