Although I cannot say that I have developed specific skills this week, I can say that I have gained an appreciation of the importance for a leader to express clearly his or her expectations of the tasks that the team must do. The three of us as interns were challenged when we were told that we did not accomplish a task correctly.  Yet, each of us consulted each other, and we thought that what we were doing was right.  It turns out that we didn’t understand some part of the task. I learned to take responsibility for the errors. I also learned to check in with the boss as the task is being completed—just to make sure that I am doing the work to meet the boss’s expectations.

This internship has motivated me to work hard and make connections with people for future internships. I hope to earn my degree in athletic training so that I can continue with graduate studies in physical or occupational therapy and eventually in sports’ medicine as a medical doctor
