The thing I appreciated most about this experience was Jamies willingness to devote her time to educate me on the field of art therapy. I am so lucky to have had experience in this field before college, or even grad school. I feel as though I have an entirely new perspective on this career and more realistic expectations.

My internship has inspired me to further devote myself to this field of work. I always planned on studying psychology in college, and I am now certain that I will be studying art therapy as well. This has inspired me to not only create my own studio and practice in the future, but also work to change the way art is viewed in education and therapeutic settings.

After this internship, I can now add many things to my resume– including: creating a mailing list, creating flyers and email campaigns, interviewing skills, organizing skills, problem solving skills, and small experiences with mindfulness based stress reduction and expressive therapy.
