Since Mitre has such intensive security clearance, I wasn't able to officially start until the week of April 8th. I came in twice this week still and had to get escorted by the people I'm working with since I didn't have the proper clearance yet. This week I just familiarized myself with the building and my work environment and did a little research on networking - just to give myself a little background information.

The work environment varies from person to person. Some people wear their military uniform, others dress formal, but for me I can get away with the same clothes I wear for school. Everything here is pretty informal where I'm working. Everyone works at their own pace and it's a quiet and productive environment.

Mitre is a non-profit organization that supports several government agencies. They work and bring innovative ideas into new areas of research such as artificial intelligence, science, health informatics, space security, policy and economic expertise, trustworthy autonomy, cyber threat sharing, and cyber resilience. As for myself I'm going to be working with people who deal with cyber security.
