Week 1
My first week at Rep Cory Atkins office was very busy. It was budget week for the House of Representatives so there was a lot of meetings and debates about how much each bill or amendment will receive from the State.
My work environment is formal but also lax at the same time, The dress attire is business casual but some days we can wear more comfortable clothing if there is not a lot of events going on. Most people follow the dress code guidelines, especially people working in Senate and House of Reps.
What I like about working in the State House because there is always something happening. Either it's a debate in the chambers between the Senate and House of Reps or a event from other organizations. There was even a day when the culinary arts students of Massachusetts (high school) came to the State House and had us try the food they make (and it was amazing!)
The service we provide is representing Concord, Carlisle, some of Acton and some of Chelmsford. Rep Cory Atkins is a great representative for these towns because she is so passionate and driven in her work and I have such high hopes for the future of these towns.
