  • One of the challenges that I have faced while being at my internship is understanding that everything is formal. My style is very comfy, lazy, and pretty lax. So I am not used to wearing business casual clothes every day and going to formal hearings and events all day. But the adjustment has been easy and I am still finding ways to be comfortable in my style.

  • My supervisor's management style is very lax. She gives me room to be independent and work as a intern but she also helps and guides me when I need the extra help. She starts the day by having me the local news online, just to stay up to date. Then she will send me to hearing, events, or things that seem interesting that is happening in the State House. What I appreciate about her management style is that it is professional but also personal when need be. She also tells me about events that relate to the major that I will be going into in the fall.

  • One new thing I learned about being an intern at the State House is how to network within the community and within the State House. I have had many opportunities to meet new people that can help me in the future, especially for future internships or possible jobs!
