Describe the specific tasks you performed in your first week.

My first week was eventful: I had an orientation over zoom where I was able to meet the new employees from all the departments, not just fellow interns. I received my first tasks and was able to meet my team. ​My internship is fully virtual which makes connecting with my colleagues much more difficult. However, I was able to understand my work dealing with WordPress training and will receive my first tasks next week.

Describe your work environment (formal, casual, dress attire, etc.). What do you like about where you are working?

I work over zoom for the duration of the school year. It is casual. I like that I am able to work on flexible hours that fit my schedule. ​When I go to the office, it will be business casual.

What type of product/service does this company provide?

The company participates in many projects with a variety of uses. My group is focusing on protection against ransomware (a variant of malware) and my job is to use WordPress and display this information on the website and assist my supervisor with additional research. ​
