Week one of the internship was where we learned what exactly goes on in the office. A lot of the work done for Bruins Daily is done outside of the office by the writer or videographer. For that reason, we weren't able to learn very much about how Bruins Daily runs. We were though introduced to the other company that Peter runs and owns, StinkySocks Hockey. We learned a lot about what StinkySocks offers and what makes them unique from similar companies. Pete explained and showed us how much he has to do to run the business. From creating and adding pages to his website all the way to how to he has to communicate with his customers. Something that came as a nice surprise for me was that Pete taught us how to screen print shirts and sweatshirts, which was very cool to learn.
In the office, it is a very casual atmosphere. I wore khakis and a polo shirt every day.
I enjoy going to work every day. We commute to Boston, so we have to take the commuter rail to Porter Square, then we take the T to South Station. I was actually curious about how screen printing worked before I started the internship so as I said, it was cool to learn how to do that.
