The second week of my internship the Clerk-Magistrate started to give me a little bit more of a full experience of the courthouse and gave me more responsibilities. The most challenging of my responsibilities have been doing work in the Records Room. The Records Room of the courthouse is where they keep all of their docket sheets dating back to the early 1900s. In there I have been putting docket sheets back into their rightful place after being requested by a citizen or a judge to be pulled out and looked at. This is challenging because it is tedious work and you have to be very careful when sorting the docket sheets.

My supervisor is Ms. Colicchio, the Clerk-Magistrate of the Concord District Courthouse. Her management style is working very well with me. She wants us to get the full experience of the courthouse and show us all of the bits and pieces keep the courthouse functioning. Although she has the appearance to be more formal, she is informal while talking and working with me. If I have any questions about anything she is always happy to listen to my questions and teach me when she can.

There are a lot of moving pieces in the courthouse. I have learned that they are understaffed and are always looking for a set of hands to help out. I have already learned so much about this court and am excited to go in and continue to work in this environment.
