WEEK 1:
My first week at my internship stated in Aiken, South Carolina.
I had the opportunity to go to Aiken, South Carolina for a week where I got to do some training with my new horse as well as I got to experience a busy week in the life of a trainer. Because this was the last week of winter in South Carolina we had to pack up all the 10 horses and all their stuff so we could head up north by the end of the week. It was hard to manage but we worked as a team to get everything packed and ready to go in time. Additionally, I got to ride some of my trainer's horses which I love because they teach me a lot. We also got to go watch a show where my trainer competed on a difficult project horse which was really cool. Although this week very tiring I loved it and would do it all over! I love working with the Water's Edge Farm team as everyone works together in a fun and exciting way.
I am excited about next week as we will settle into a new routine.
