One of the most difficult things I have been faced with occurred on my first day. A difficult man came in who had wounds bigger than I expected. He had multiple pressure wounds and was in excruciating pain. I was standing in the back of the room shocked and had no idea what to do. I knew I needed to help so I did so when transporting him from a stretched to the hospital bed. I knew that there would be a lot of patients in the future who would be in a tremendous amount of pain and you cannot just stand in the back and watch. I have always loved nurses ever since I was young and always in and out of the hospital and being at Emerson excites me everyday because the connections that are made with the patients is one like no other.
