My internship has taught me so much throughout the past 5 weeks. It has taught me patience, empathy, and how important building relationships can be. I learned that you are a patients biggest advocate and you are someone that they put so much trust in. I learned that you need to believe in yourself. I learned to draw blood from a dummy and I felt super confident and then, a fellow nurse pulled her arm out and told me to do it on her. I was shocked and nervous and she told me "confidence is key" so I stopped worrying and just did what I had been practicing and I was able to get it on my first try. That was one of my proudest moments throughout my internship and one that I will not forget. For anyone who is thinking about doing an internship, if you know what you think you want to do then this program is the perfect opportunity for you to see if this is what you really want to do as a career.
