My internship has taught me that having patience and perseverance is really important when working in this industry. If something does not go as planned, or the building you wanted was purchased by someone else you can't just give up. It takes time to build a business like this. It does not start overnight. One of the things that stood out to me most was when my supervisor told me to never buy the first building you think you should buy. Wait it out. See if there is a better price, on a better building, in a better area... Because there always will be.

One tip I will suggest to future interns is to find something that interests you, but also find something you do not know much about. It makes everything much more interesting, you learn a lot more, and you might as well try something you have never before. This is the time to step out of your comfort zone because it is a great opportunity to find a possible major/minor in college and maybe if you are lucky enough, you will find what you want to do as a career.
