As my internship comes to an end and it becomes time to reflect on the things I learned about myself, I realized that I could work on my communication skills. At first, I had thought that my communication skills were good, but as I was working at IMPACT Melanoma, I realized that it could use some improvements. I also realized that there is a lot than what meets the surface when working in a business. There are lots of outreach tasks and data inputs. It wasn't something I was used to, but I can say that it was an eye-opening experience because, as an inspiring nurse practitioner, I will need to be accustomed to entering data for a desired due date. Going into this experience, I didn't know what to expect, but I still went in with a positive mindset; I would say that advice that I would provide for students thinking of being involved in the internship is to follow.  Concord-Carlisle offers a good experience for students interested in getting a jumpstart working in a field in their interest while still in high school.
