My First Week

For my first week at the Concord Art Association, I started off with some filing, organizational projects, and website editing. I filed statements for the many different classes and workshops that Concord Art provides. In addition to having three main galleries, Concord Art runs many different educational classes that teach art in many different capacities and using a vast range of methods to do so. Doing this filing allowed me to learn about the classes that Concord Art provides. I also worked with Kathy Jacobs to upload and sort submissions into Dropbox for the 2019 Members Gallery. Through this, I was able to view many different types of art from 40 very skilled members of the association. The environment is semi-formal but the atmosphere is very friendly. The members consist mostly of independent artists and retired adults, many of whom have made an active effort to learn my name and start conversations with me. I really like being in an environment with so many inspired artists while learning a bit on how to manage a team. As Concord Art functions with only around six staff members, I get a close look at how they run their team successfully and how to better do my part in it.
