Being only three days long, week one got off to a slightly slower start. However, week two took off with full speed. One of the main tasks I have been given so far has been to create flyers to advertise different classes that the studio is offering. As simple as making a poster may seem, I really got some insight as to what goes into creating an advertisement. I found it surprisingly difficult to work out the balance of pictures and text, the color scheme, and the layout and contents of the flyers I was working on. My supervisor would send me a couple of paragraphs of information about a class, and I would have to choose which information was important enough to include, and which I could do without. Though it was only a few posters, the overarching message proved to be one of the more difficult parts of the week: trusting my judgment and being confident in myself to make a good decision with the information I am given.

My supervisor's management style is very relaxed and informal. I have begun taking classes at the studio outside of my internship and we have gotten to know each other on a more personal level. She is very encouraging of my interest in continuing the arts in college!

Something I have learned about her company is that it is extremely community-based. This largely has to do with two things: her type of company (yoga and fitness studios often have regulars that come in for the same classes), and the size of her company (it is relatively small, so she knows many customers very personally and has built a very strong, tight-knit community of regulars).
