To date what has been the most challenging aspect of the internship?
One of the most challenging aspects has been the euthanizations, there have been a bunch over the last few weeks and even growing up in the horse world and there being horses put down throughout my whole life it's different having the owners come in individually upset and it's different than being more in public at the barn.
Describe my supervisor's management style
Overall my supervisor's style is pretty casual. The overall community that has been formed at Domino makes it easy or a place of work to feel more like a group of friends working with animals. The environment overall is pretty stress-free.
Describe one new thing I've learned about this company, or the field and/or industry as a whole.
Something I have learned is that this is not only about the animals but its about how you interact with the owners and giving them the information that's needed about their pet but not conving it in a way that could be found upsetting or confusing whether it is the tech or the vet talking.
