This last week at Commodore I got to do a lot of interesting tasks. For me, the most important was finally creating and assigning coordination issues to the different subcontractors. I had spent a lot of time in the previous weeks creating viewpoints and looking at many of these issues as they are a fundamental part of how our department functions. So it was especially rewarding when I was finally able to complete the entire process of finding an issue, creating a view for it, coming up with a solution, and assigning it to a specific person. Over the next couple of weeks, I will likely be performing this task a lot more often.

Work gets stressful quite often as I get new and unique tasks almost every single day. I have learned that I handle these types of situations quite well as my mind is always thinking of what I need to do next, what resources are available, and whom I should reach out to if I need help. However. when I get frustrated I tend to fall into a cycle of jumping on a solution too quickly and having to fix some work. So I have been trying to take my time more and complete each task properly rather than rushing to finish more and risking making a mistake.

I think I have learned a lot about communication during these past few weeks that I will carry with me for the rest of my life. I have always struggled with writing essays and emails, so it was a bit daunting when one of my weekly tasks became sending emails. As I explained last week it was one of the most difficult tasks I have done. However, as I do it more often I have started to learn new things and pick up on certain cues and I think this skill will stick with me for a long time.
