During the third week of my internship at Sanborn Middle School, I had great opportunities to become close with a few of the students and even the teachers. Having this done allows the kids to be more comfortable around me in a classroom setting. Another thing that I am proud of myself for accomplishing is getting a grasp of the material being learned throughout the day. Having this skill allows me to help the students with questions that they may have about any assignments, whether it's in class or at home. Something difficult that I came across this week was being asked to join guidance for a lunch group. During these lunch groups, kids come in and talk freely to guidance counselors and others that are in the room. At first, this was a little awkward for me not knowing how to respond to some of the discussed things, but as I got more comfortable in the situation, it went a lot smoother than I thought when I was walking into it, now I will be joining lunch groups once a week. So far, my internship has spiked a large interest in the field of education for me and has had a really large impact on my thoughts about my future.
