During this week, I reviewed my resources and began to create a pros and cons list for different communities that I am looking to do COVID-19 outreach to. I want to educate a community of peers, encourage others to get vaccinated, and help people become aware of the misconceptions about vaccines. I plan to prepare a google presentation as my final project and reach out to the Boys & Girls Club and Mayor's Youth Council to propose my project. I've learned when brainstorming who should be my audience, that it is not easy to do outreach on such a controversial, political, and important topic such as the covid vaccines. There is a diverse range of people with different experiences and opinions about vaccines and it is hard finding the right audience that will listen to a student who doesn't have certain accreditation yet in the medical field. I am also learning from health care professionals that it has been difficult to convince patients especially pregnant mothers or those wanting to have kids, that the vaccine is safe. The number one thing I am focused on right now is telling people what I know and sharing my experience and why I got vaccinated.
