My internship has taught me to improve my organizational and time-management skills, especially because I worked independently and tried to meet a specific deadline to prepare for my community outreach project. I have also enhanced my communication skills because I had to set up weekly check-ins with my supervisor and present to an audience for my final project. I have also networked by asking my supervisor to connect me with other people she knows in the Public Health field and present during board meetings with the Boys and Girls Club.

I would encourage future interns to communicate any questions, concerns, or even updates to their supervisor because it shows you're interested and want to learn more. I also advise interns to complete their tasks and find more ways to help. Don't do the bare minimum. It is good to take the initiative and be proactive because it shows you're passionate and a hard worker; you will have a good chance of landing a part-time job after the internship.
